A healthcare institution in San Antonio, Chile is looking for a Genetic Counselor to screen genetic test orders and provide clinical consultations. The ideal candidate must have a Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling and at least 5 years of experience, with 3 years in a laboratory setting. Certification by the American Board of Genetic Counseling is required, along with Texas State licensure where applicable.
Responsible for screening and reviewing select germline genetic test orders. Must be able to assess the patient’s clinical history and, when necessary, recommend alternative genetic testing based on the analysis of risk, benefit, and cost to the patient and/or Health System. Responsible for providing clinical consultation services and communicating results to physicians and other allied health professionals.
Master of Science in Genetic Counseling with ≥5 years of experience required, ≥3 years of which must be laboratory-relevant experience.
Certified as a genetic counselor by the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC). Texas State licensure will be required as available/appropriate.
