A prestigious academic institution in Santiago, Chile, is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Statistics. The ideal candidate will hold a doctoral degree, have significant research and teaching experience, and be fluent in Spanish. Responsibilities include pursuing research and teaching courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels. The Department of Statistics, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, announces the opening of one tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level, beginning August 1, 2018. Candidates should have a doctoral degree in Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related field and exhibit experience in both research and teaching. Appointees will be expected to pursue a vigorous research program and to teach three undergraduate/graduate courses per year in Spanish (with idiomatic support if required); doctoral courses can be taught in English. Load is reduced to only two courses per year during the first two years.

The annual salary will be around 27,784,000 Chilean Pesos (approximately US$43,400 or €37,500). The selected candidate can also apply to a starting funding of 8,000,000 CLP (approximately US$12,500 or €10,800) of the Academic Insertion Program, to be used during the first three years. Please
