Ärztekasse Genossenschaft is renewing its datacenter and seeks a smart, experienced Platform Engineer to install, configure and maintain Windows servers, RedHat Linux, and virtualization infrastructure in Geneva/Thônex or Zurich/Urdorf. You will automate provisioning, manage patches, and ensure security and uptime.

The role is 80-100% (full-time equivalent) with on-call rotation, part of the Platform team, starting immediately or by appointment. English fluency is required, German/French a plus.

Qualifikationen

• 3+ years of experience in system/server engineering or administration.
• Strong Windows Server administration knowledge; Linux (RedHat) is a plus.
• Experience with virtualization technologies and datacenter operations.
• Scripting/automation skills: Bash, PowerShell or Python.
• Basic understanding of Kubernetes and container orchestration is a plus.
• Knowledge of security best practices and patch management.
• Strong communication skills in English; German and French are a plus.

Aufgaben

• Install, configure and maintain virtual machines and server systems (Windows and support Linux/RedHat).
• Ensure availability, performance and security of the server landscape in our virtual datacenter.
• Perform patch management, hardening and lifecycle management of server systems.
• Automate server provisioning and configuration through infrastructure as code.
• Drive the migration from unmanaged VMs to IaaS-provider-managed VMs.
• Monitor systems and resolve incidents to minimize downtime.
• This role is part of the Platform team.
• Participate in future on-call rotation.
