MPower Plus is seeking a Test Engineer Tosca to design, build, and maintain automated Tosca tests for complex IT and banking projects. You will model test cases, manage data, and ensure thorough test coverage across functional and non-functional areas, while collaborating with multiple stakeholders to resolve defects.

The role emphasizes hands-on Tosca usage, integration with CI/CD, and strong communication skills in a hybrid work environment with in-office presence required three days a week.

Role: Test Engineer Tosca (Advanced Test Analyst Skills)

Key Responsibilities and Duties

1. Test Automation with Tosca

Design, develop, and maintain automated test cases using Tricentis Tosca (e.g., regression tests, smoke tests, end-to-end tests).

Estimate effort required for implementing automated tests and align estimates with business stakeholders, test management, and test analysts.

Continuously enhance the existing Tosca test automation framework, including modules, reusability, and standards.

2. Test Case Design and Creation (Functional & Technical)

Analyze requirements, specifications, and user stories to derive testable acceptance criteria.

Create detailed and traceable test cases (manual and automated), including the development and maintenance of a test case matrix for various test scenarios.

Ensure complete coverage of functional and non-functional requirements.

3. Test Data Management

Identify, create, and maintain required test data for both automated and manual testing.

Develop reusable test data concepts (e.g., in conjunction with Tosca or similar solutions).

Ensure valid and consistent test data to prevent testing bottlenecks.

4. Test Execution (Automated)

Execute tests according to the test plan using Tosca test suites.

Monitor and evaluate automated test runs, including execution within CI/CD pipelines.

Document test results and identify, analyze, and report deviations and defects.

Log, analyze, and track defects using defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira).

Collaborate closely with developers, Test Managers, Test Analysts, and business teams to ensure efficient defect resolution.

Ensure defect reports are complete and clearly documented, including reproduction steps, logs, and screenshots.

6. Test Coverage and Risk Analysis

Support test coverage analysis, particularly for automated regression testing.

Assess requirements and functionalities based on risk and priority to identify suitable automation candidates.

Contribute to a risk-based test strategy with a focus on critical business processes.

7. Reporting and Collaboration with the Senior Test Manager

Provide input for test reports covering test progress, test coverage, and defect status.

Clearly communicate results, risks, and technical challenges related to test automation.

Profile / Required Qualifications

• Several years of experience as a Test Engineer or Test Analyst in complex IT or banking projects, preferably within lending or retail banking environments.
• Strong expertise in functional testing and test case design, including risk-based testing methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with Tricentis Tosca, including:
• Test case modeling
• Modules
• Execution Lists
• Test Data Service (preferred)
• API Testing (preferred)
• Tricentis Tosca Certifications such as: AS1, AS2, AE1, TDS1, TDS2
• Proficiency with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira, Xray, and ALM.
• Experience in test automation (Regression, Smoke, End-to-End testing) and ideally integration with CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong analytical, structured, and quality-focused working style with a high level of ownership and accountability.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with Senior Test Managers, Test Analysts, Developers, and Business Users.
• Good to very good German language skills (written and spoken) and English proficiency at minimum B2 level.
