Job summary

A-ROSA is seeking a Technical Superintendent / Corporate Marine Engineer to oversee the technical readiness, safety and cost efficiency of our fleet. The role includes leading technical staff on board and ensuring compliance with statutory and internal requirements.

The position is based in Chur, Switzerland, with work across our fleet and on board. You will plan shipyard periods, supervise inspections, coordinate external contractors and support procurement, while shaping the fleet's technical

Qualifications

• Good written and spoken German and English.

Responsibilities

• Oversee technically reliable and cost-efficient vessel operations across the fleet.

• Support the insurance department in handling claims.
• Contribute to cost planning and budgeting.
• Monitor and inspect repairs to vessel machinery and technical systems.
• Manage external contractors and coordinate servicing work.
• Plan deployment of Chief Engineers and Electricians and contribute to their training.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations onboard.
• Plan, guide and oversee technical vessel operations from shore.
• Support procurement in sourcing spare parts and materials.
• Monitor crew qualifications and vessel documentation.

Your Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the technical readiness, safety, cost efficiency and continued development of the entire fleet. You will lead the technical personnel on board and ensure compliance with all statutory, classification society and internal company requirements.

For our Nautical and Technical Department, we are looking for a Technical Superintendent / Corporate Marine Engineer (all genders) to work across our fleet and at our office in Chur, Switzerland.

• Oversee and ensure technically reliable and cost-efficient vessel operations across the fleet.
• Plan and supervise shipyard periods and conduct regular vessel visits.
• Prepare inspection reports.
• Support the insurance department in handling insurance claims.
• Contribute to cost planning and budgeting.
• Monitor and inspect repairs to vessel machinery and technical systems.
• Manage external contractors and coordinate servicing work.
• Plan the deployment of Chief Engineers and Electricians and contribute to their technical training and professional development.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant occupational health and safety regulations on board.
• Put the company’s objectives into practice within vessel operations.
• Plan, guide and oversee technical vessel operations from shore.
• Support the procurement department in sourcing spare parts and technical materials.
• Monitor the validity of crew qualifications and certificates, as well as vessel documentation.
• Develop, establish and maintain quality standards.

Your Profile

• A qualification as a Marine Engineer or a comparable technical qualification.
• Several years of professional experience in vessel repairs or operations, preferably with a focus on propulsion systems; experience in servicing and shipyard work would be an advantage.
• A collaborative, team-oriented approach.
• Good written and spoken German and English.
• Proficiency in using computers and MS Office applications, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Strong organisational skills.
• A keen interest in ships and vessel technology.
• Willingness to travel.
• A commercially minded approach.
• Residence in Switzerland is required; the role is based in Chur and on board our vessels.
