Job summary

Speechify is seeking an experienced software engineer with 5+ years of leadership experience to own major features end-to-end. You will collaborate with design for releases, review PRs, and maintain reliability metrics while reducing manual interventions in the release process.

You should have strong Kotlin expertise (Coroutines, Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM), plus background audio experience and a solid grasp of testing practices. Excellent communication and AI-aware collaboration are valued.

Qualifications

• Experience with background audio or long-running background processes.

Responsibilities

• Own features end to end from design through release.Work with design team to plan decisions.
• Review PRs and provide feedback; unblock team when needed.
• Standardize features for reuse and maintain shared components.
• Drive process improvements to reduce manual release interventions.
• Ensure issues are resolved by addressing root causes in setups.
• Guide junior engineers to provide meaningful work and growth.

Experience

• Understanding of testing importance and limitations.
• Track record of effective team contributions.
• Ability to implement and sustain successful team changes.

• Strong product design intuition and user empathy.
• Drive for improving app and codebase beyond specifications.
