Tax Manager | Zurich
Our client is an international group with entities in several countries. It is hiring a Tax Manager to take full responsibility for the tax affairs of its Swiss company. You’ll report to the Global Head of Tax and work with Finance, Accounting, Legal and Treasury on a broad remit. It covers compliance, reporting, transfer pricing and business advice, and includes regular exposure to senior leadership.
The role:
- Own Swiss corporate tax and VAT for the Swiss entity and oversee filings for its branches and subsidiaries abroad.
- Coordinate external advisors in each country, from collecting data to submitting returns and settling assessments.
- Deal directly with the Swiss tax authorities and auditors, including during audits.
- Prepare the quarterly and year-end tax figures, including deferred tax and the effective tax rate.
- Work with group tax on global minimum tax (Pillar Two) and the Swiss top-up tax.
- Run the transfer pricing model each quarter, allocate profits to the foreign branches and keep the related documentation current.
- Advise on indirect tax, withholding tax and cross-border matters, and turn that advice into practical processes for the business.
- Help the commercial and billing teams with tax questions about contracts and invoices.
- Keep the tax risk and control framework up to date, and present findings to management clearly.
What you’ll need:
- At least three years in tax, in an advisory firm or a multinational’s in-house team.
- A relevant degree. A Swiss or equivalent tax qualification is a strong plus.
- Strong knowledge of Swiss corporate tax and VAT, with a good grasp of international tax, tax accounting and transfer pricing. Experience with Pillar Two or a large ERP system is a bonus.
- Proven experience managing advisors and meeting competing deadlines across countries.
- An organised, hands-on approach and the confidence to work with senior stakeholders.
- Fluent German and English.
