Job summary

BRUSA Elektronik AG in Buchs (CH) seeks an experienced System Engineer to own the System-Life-Cycle for vehicle communication interfaces, state machines, and protection mechanisms. You will define interfaces and maintain state machines, serving as the primary technical contact for customer discussions on requirements and feature planning.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor or Master in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in system engineering, preferably in automotive.
• Experience with system engineering methodologies and lifecycle (V-model).
• Strong knowledge of automotive and wireless communication technologies (CAN, Ethernet, WLAN).
• Experience with Functional Safety (ISO 26262) and automotive development processes.

• Act as the primary technical interface to customers for discussions on system requirements, scope and feature planning.

• Trace analysis: pre-analysis of customer tickets, overnight charging traces, PV trace analysis and SYS.4/SYS.5 failed test analysis.
• Support operation/commissioning of the function at the bench and on the vehicle.

What you will move in this role:

• Create, review and manage system requirements, ensuring full traceability from customer requirements to implementation and validation according to ASPICE

What skills and experience you should bring:

• Bachelor or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in system engineering, preferably in the automotive industry
• Professional experience with system engineering methodologies and lifecycle (V-model)
• Strong knowledge of automotive and wireless communication technologies, including CAN, Ethernet, and WLAN
• Experience with Functional Safety (ISO 26262) and automotive development processes
• Ability to understand complex technical systems and translate requirements into effective system solutions
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to interact with customers, suppliers, and internal interfaces
• Self-driven, proactive, and highly motivated personality with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform successfully in a dynamic, fast-paced, and innovative environment
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken; German is considered an advantage
