Zusammenfassung

The Centre for Social Psychology at Universität Basel invites three student research assistants to join our team. The position is 7 hours per week (16.66%), with an initial six-month contract starting 1 November 2026 and potential renewals per semester.

You will work on current social psychology research under supervision. Responsibilities include literature searches, data analysis in R, and programming online studies using Unipark or SoSciSurvey.

Qualifikationen

• Currently studying psychology at the University of Basel and interested in social psychology research.
• Strong English communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Experience with statistical data analysis (R) or willingness to learn.
• Experience with online study programming tools (Unipark/SoSciSurvey) or willingness to learn.

Aufgaben

• Assist on current social psychology research projects under supervision.
• Conduct literature searches and help with data collection and analysis.
• Prepare results and drafts following APA style guidelines.
• Recruit participants for the VERVE Lab as needed.

The Faculty of Psychology is one of seven faculties of the oldest university in Switzerland. With our core focus areas Society & Choice and Health & Interventions, we are successful both nationally and internationally in our research and study programs. The Centre for Social Psychology conducts research at the interface of social psychology, consumer psychology as well as cognition and decision sciences. Our research follows a social-cognitive and empirical-quantitative approach.

Three student research assistant positions

The Centre for Social Psychology is seeking three student research assistants for 7 hours per week (16.66%). The initial contract is for 6 months, starting 1 November 2026 and may be renewed by mutual agreement for each new semester of study. Two positions will be supervised by Dr Fanny Lalot & MSc Jakob Schuck; one other position by MSc Camilla Boggia.

Your position

In your role as a research assistant, you will work under supervision on current research in the field of social psychology. A selection of possible tasks is: searching for relevant literature, translating materials (DE/EN), creating and conducting studies, analysing data, presenting results or writing them up according to APA norms, recruiting participants for the VERVE Lab.

Your profile

• You are studying psychology at the University of Basel and are interested in social psychological research
• You want to be actively involved in research and work on topical projects
• You like to work independently, but also communicate successfully in a team
• You have a very good command of English
• You have experience with statistical data analysis (notably R) or are willing to familiarise yourself with them
• You have experience with programming online studies (such as Unipark or SoSciSurvey) or are willing to familiarise yourself with them
