Zusammenfassung

Eawag, the Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology, invites applications for a Risk Manager / Safety Officer (m/f/d) 80-100% based at the Dübendorf and Kastanienbaum sites.

You will shape and implement safety and risk management, advise the Directorate, coordinate risk processes, and oversee safety training, audits and crisis planning.

We seek a seasoned professional with ISO 31000 knowledge, ASGS training, and strong communication in German and English.

Qualifikationen

• Several years' professional experience in risk, safety or quality management.
• University degree in risk management, safety, natural sciences, engineering or related field.
• In-depth knowledge of risk management, ideally per ISO 31000, and health and safety issues.
• Training as an ASGS specialist or ASGS expert.
• Extensive experience advising senior managers and coordinating cross‑functional processes and teams.
• Structured, independent and solution-oriented approach; ability to communicate complex issues clearly.
• German and English proficiency; other national language helpful.

Aufgaben

• Coordinate and further develop the institutional risk management system and related processes, methods and tools.
• Advise the Directorate and risk owners on strategic and methodological issues; prepare basis for committee decisions.
• Coordinate the annual risk management process and assist departments in identifying, assessing and managing risks.
• Maintain and quality-assure the risk catalogue; monitor risk mitigation measures.
• Coordinate and author annual risk reporting for the Directorate and ETH Board.
• Be the contact person for risk management audits and reviews; coordinate necessary documentation.
• Develop information, training and awareness measures; represent Eawag on relevant ETH Domain committees.
• Take operational responsibility for safety coordination at the Dübendorf (ZH) and Kastanienbaum (LU) sites; advise on safety measures and concepts.
• Coordinate development and QA of safety guidelines and training for lab, field and experiments.
• Conduct health and safety risk assessments and planning; implement safety measures and coordinate drills.
• Support crisis management; contribute to the internal crisis team and potential deputy leadership.
• Coordinate audits/inspections and liaise with regulatory bodies and safety partners.
• Represent Eawag on safety committees within the ETH Domain.
