Job summary

The City of Lausanne is seeking an accounting and finance specialist within the Architecture and Housing Service to strengthen financial control and project accounting. You will manage routine and project accounting operations, ensuring data quality and timely reporting in collaboration with multiple stakeholders.

The role focuses on construction project accounting, closures, budgets and monitoring, with an emphasis on ERP systems (Abacus/SAP) and advanced Excel analyses.

Qualifications

• Federal diploma in accounting or equivalent qualification.
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of public accounting standards (LCCOM, RCCOM).
• Experience with ERP systems (Abacus or SAP) and project cost management tools.
• Excellent data analysis and Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage routine and project accounting operations and monitor accounts.

Main Mission(s)

Ensure the management and control of the service's routine and specific accounting operations, as well as the monitoring and justification of accounts

Participate in accounting closures and reconciliations, perform necessary adjustments and reconciliations, and prepare documents for management and control bodies

Guarantee the quality of financial data by checking allocations, invoices and supporting documents, identifying anomalies and ensuring their correction

Produce monitoring tables, analyses and reports necessary for activity management

Manage accounting operations related to construction projects: issuing purchase orders, processing awards and invoices

Ensure the financial monitoring of construction projects: budgets, commitments, costs, revenues, allocations, management of deposits, payments and guarantees

Participate in the closure of construction projects, notably by preparing statements, progress reports and adjustment entries

Take charge of specific accounting or financial projects and collaborate with the various stakeholders involved

Profile

Federal certificate of capacity as a commercial employee or equivalent training

Federal diploma in accounting or equivalent qualification, required

At least 5 years of experience in a similar role

Very good knowledge of public accounting and applicable standards and regulations (LCCOM, RCCOM)

Experience in managing accounting and financial projects

Very good command of Excel and ease with data analysis tools

Experience with an ERP, ideally Abacus or SAP, as well as AbaProjet or a similar project financial management tool

Knowledge of construction cost codes (CFC) and/or training in construction project cost management is an asset

Excellent analytical skills, rigour and organisational sense

Ease in communication and collaboration with various stakeholders
