Qualifikationen

• Master's degree or PhD in Chemical Engineering, ideally focused on crystallization, filtration, drying or solid form tech.
• Experience in R&D, Process Development, MSAT or manufacturing in pharma, life sciences or chemical industry.
• Strong expertise in solid form development and scale-up of chemical processes.
• Analytical and data-driven decision-making abilities for process improvement.
• Innovative mindset with practical, sustainable technical solutions.
• Self-driven, organized and collaborative with cross-functional teamwork.
• Excellent written and spoken German and English for diverse stakeholder communication.

• Lead and support new product introductions and development/scale-up of crystallization, filtration, drying and milling.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing via troubleshooting, root cause analysis and improvements.
• Plan, execute and supervise lab and process development studies for production transfer.
• Analyze experimental and manufacturing data, prepare reports, present results to stakeholders.
• Ensure effective process knowledge transfer between customers, development teams and manufacturing.
• Provide scientific/expert input to cross-functional teams and external collaborations.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and trends in polymorphism and solid-state characterization.

To strengthen our Manufacturing Science & Technology (MSAT) team within the Small Molecules organization in Visp, Switzerland, we are looking for a highly motivated Solid Form Expert.

In this role, you will play a key part in the introduction of new products and the development, scale-up, and optimization of chemical manufacturing processes.

Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will contribute to process robustness, product quality, and the long-term success of our pharmaceutical manufacturing operations.

What you will do

• Lead and support new product introductions as well as the development, optimization, and scale-up of crystallization, filtration, drying, and milling processes
• Provide technical support to manufacturing operations through troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementation of sustainable process improvements
• Plan, execute, and supervise laboratory and process development studies to support production and technology transfer activities
• Analyze and interpret experimental and manufacturing data, prepare technical reports, and present results to internal stakeholders
• Ensure effective process knowledge transfer between customers, development teams, and manufacturing during product implementation projects
• Provide scientific and technical expertise to cross-functional teams, business decisions, and external collaboration projects
• Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends while applying expertise in areas such as polymorphism, solid-state characterization, and chiral resolution

What we are looking for

• Master's degree or PhD in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline, ideally with a focus on crystallization, filtration, drying, or solid form technologies
• Experience in Research & Development, Process Development, MSAT, or manufacturing within the pharmaceutical, life sciences, or chemical industry
• Strong expertise in solid form development and a sound understanding of chemical manufacturing and scale-up processes
• Proven problem-solving abilities combined with strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills
• Innovative mindset with the ability to develop practical and sustainable technical solutions
• Self-driven, well-organized, and collaborative professional who thrives in cross-functional environments
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both German and English, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders across all organizational levels
