Job summary

Avaloq, founded in Switzerland, is expanding its global footprint with thousands of colleagues and more than 170 clients worldwide in the wealth management tech space. The Cash Operations & Payments team in AMS maintains and enhances SaaS client solutions, collaborating with the Back-Office to ensure robust service delivery.

You will work with Team Leads, BAs, and engineers to design, develop, and test features, while improving existing functionalities and supporting agile practices with Jira.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of software development experience.
• Strong knowledge of database technologies (SQL, Oracle PL/SQL).
• Able to understand business needs and translate them into clean, high-quality code.
• Structured, analytical thinker with an autonomous work approach.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Team Lead, BAs, and other Software Engineers.
• Write solution designs and review with technical leads/architects.
• Participate in client workshops and assist Business Analysts in requirements analysis.
• Design, develop and maintain solutions within the team scope.
• Improve and optimize existing functionalities.
• Develop and maintain automated tests and ensure quality.

Job Description

The Cash Operations & Payments team in the Application Management Services (AMS) is responsible to provide application maintenance (bug fixing) and small enhancements services for the functional area and all related topics for our SaaS clients, in close collaboration with the Back-Office department.

Your key tasks

• Closely collaborate with the Team Lead, Business Analysts, and other Software Engineers
• Write solution designs for new developments and have them reviewed with our technical leads and architects
• Participate in client workshops and support our business analysts in requirements analysis
• Design, develop and maintain thought-out solutions within the team’s responsibility
• Improve and optimize existing functionalities
• Develop and maintain automated tests, quality insurance
• Take ownership and responsibility for your area of expertise
• To work with agile mindset, process, and ticketing platforms (Jira)

Qualifications

• Strong proven track record of relevant software development experience of at least 3 Years
• Good knowledge and sound understanding of database technologies (SQL, Oracle PL/SQL)
• Eager to learn and understand the business needs aiming to provide clean designs and high-quality code
• Strong conceptual and analytical mind with a structured and autonomous approach to work on complex technical and business problems

It would be a real bonus if you have

• Experience in the financial industry and/or cash operations and payments topics
• University degree in Computer Science or related discipline (preferable)
• Knowledge in domain specific standards for payments, like SIC, euroSIC, SEPA and SWIFT MT or MX (ISO20022)
