Summary:

Our client is a leading tech-driven quant and systematic hedge fund trading with offices across the globe. Joining the data infrastructure team, your primary focus will be the ingestion, processing and serving of large amounts of data at scale. You will champion and help to evolve coding best practices – reviewing peer code, lead or participate in design reviews, ensuring code quality, testability, and efficiency. You’ll also work closely with customers & stakeholders to understand their business/technical requirements, and develop solutions.

The successful candidate will be testing the limits of one of the most demanding data systems in the world, with exposure to a variety of exciting projects, e.g. real-time pub sub, sharded databases, etc.

Requirements:

• Solid knowledge of algorithms and data structures, plus system design experience
• Strong skills in at least one server-side programming language, e.g. Python, Go, Rust, C++, Java, etc.
• Experience writing high performance server code, multithreading, caching strategies, asynchronous IO, etc.
• Sound understanding of big data; able to compare the design, strengths & drawbacks of tools such as Elasticsearch, Kafka, BigTable, Cassandra, etc.
• Team player essential with excellent communication skills
