Job summary

Swissquote, a leading Swiss digital bank, is seeking a Software Engineer who blends strong engineering with a product mindset to build powered solutions for customers and employees.

You will design, develop, and deploy AI-native and non-AI-native applications, owning the full lifecycle from backend services to user experience, collaborating with Product Owners and Sales to modernize legacy solutions with in-house AI.

Qualifications

• Experience developing production-grade software applications.
• Strong programming skills in Java and modern software development frameworks.
• Knowledge of scalable software architectures including microservices, APIs (REST, GraphQL), container deployments (Docker, Kubernetes), and messaging systems (RabbitMQ).
• Knowledge of source control systems such as Git.
• Knowledge of Linux, Docker, Jenkins, Tomcat and Databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, Redis).
• Knowledge of test-driven development: Jbehave, TestNG, Selenium, etc.
• Familiar with event-driven architectures.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and AI application development.
• Strong problem-solving and product-oriented thinking.
• Experience in banking, financial services, or fintech is a plus.
• Fluent in English, French is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain AI and non-AI generated-code applications using coding agents such as ClaudeCode.
• Collaborate across all stages of software development, from ideation to deployment, working closely with diverse teams.
• Contribute to technical choices, conduct code reviews and perform testing.
• Ensure high standards of code quality and continuously improve best practices.
• Work with product owners to architect qualitative solutions and enhance product functionality & user experience.
• Provide support on team-maintained applications to ensure client satisfaction.
• Participate in or drive complex projects with minimal oversight, delivering features iteratively.
• Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and governance requirements in a regulated financial environment.

About the Role

We are looking for aSoftware Engineerwho combines strong software engineering skills with a product mindset to build powered solutions for our customers and employee.

Working closely with Product Owner, Product Strategy and Sales Business teams, you will help transform our legacy solutions through practical and reliable inhouse AI solutions.

• Contribute significantly to the technical choices, conduct code reviews and perform testing

• Work closely with product owners to architect qualitative solutions and to enhance product functionality & user experience.
• Provide support on the applications maintained by the team to guarantee client's satisfaction
• Participate in or drive complex projects with minimal oversight, delivering features iteratively
• Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and governance requirements expected in a regulated financial environment.
