Job summary

DeepJudge AG in Switzerland is hiring engineers for a greenfield data platform project. You’ll help shape core components, make architectural decisions, and build and operate production systems.

We’re seeking engineers with experience building stateful backends, with familiarity in storage, distributed execution, and data processing infra. You’ll work hands-on to implement reliable software and improve system reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Strong fundamentals and ability to turn rough ideas into well-designed abstractions.
• Experience shipping and operating backend systems.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Willingness to own problems and navigate ambiguity.
• Nice to have data engineering or big data experience.
• Nice to have stateful infrastructure (schedulers/workflow engines).
• Nice to have evaluating and optimizing large LLM workloads.
• Nice to have startup experience or open-source contributions.

About the role:

We’re hiring engineers for a greenfield project. Fundamental implementation decisions are still open. You’ll help make those decisions, test ideas, and build and operate the resulting systems in production.

We’re looking for engineers with experience building stateful backend systems. Experience with storage systems, distributed execution, or data processing infrastructure would be particularly relevant. You should be comfortable investigating unfamiliar problems, questioning assumptions, and making technical decisions with incomplete information.

What you’ll do:

• Taking end-to-end ownership of core components of our new data platform, from design to running in production
• Write reliable, production-grade software and help set high engineering standards for a growing system

You're a great fit if you:

• Have strong fundamentals and can think from first principles, turning rough ideas into well-designed abstractions
• Have experience shipping and operating backend systems while paying careful attention to correctness, reliability, and performance
• Have experience working with databases (SQL and/or NoSQL) and a solid understanding of how they work
• Want real ownership and are energised, not slowed down, by ambiguity
• (Nice to have) Have experience with data engineering or big data technologies
• (Nice to have) Have experience working with or building stateful infrastructure, such as job schedulers, workflow engines, or data processing systems
• (Nice to have) Have experience evaluating and optimizing large LLM workloads for quality and cost.
• (Nice to have) Have startup experience or open-source contributions
