Ärztekasse Genossenschaft is renewing its data center and seeking a skilled Site Reliability Engineer to run and optimize Kubernetes clusters in Geneva or Zurich. The role focuses on automation, monitoring, and security, with mentorship for junior team members and involvement in future on-call rotations.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of SRE/DevOps experience, strong scripting, and English fluency, plus knowledge of Flux, Istio, and related tools.

Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) (w/m)

Pensum: 80-100%
Start: immediately or by appointment
Duration: unlimited
Location: Geneva area (Thônex) or Zurich area (Urdorf)

Main Tasks

• Operate our Kubernetes clusters, ensuring high availability and reliability
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, ensuring minimal downtime
• Automate processes and enforce infrastructure as code through GitOps
• Improve and manage monitoring tools, including Mimir, Loki and Grafana, for system health checks
• Work together with development to ensure a proper shift-left
• Implement security best practices across our tech stack
• Mentor and upskill junior team members in SRE best practices
• Participate in future on-call rotation

Requirements

• At least 3-5 years of relevant SRE or DevOps experience
• Solid experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration
• Strong scripting and automation skills, preferably in Bash, Go or Python
• Good understanding of monitoring tools like Mimir, Loki and Grafana
• Familiarity with our tech stack is a plus: Flux, Cilium, Istio, Kyverno, Vault, etc.
• Experience with databases, PostgreSQL is a plus
• Self-driven, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills in English; German and French are a plus
