Union Bancaire Privée is seeking a seasoned professional to join the Wealth Planning Team in Zurich, Switzerland. This role involves engaging with clients and partners to address wealth planning needs effectively, alongside delivering training and compliance oversight.
The ideal candidate will have over 12 years of experience in wealth planning, deep expertise in UK and Anglo-Saxon structures, and fluency in English and German. This is an opportunity to integrate with a collaborative team focused on client outcomes.
You will join the Wealth Planning Team at Union Bancaire Privée (UBP) in Zurich, Switzerland.
In this role, you will serve clients and partner with Relationship Managers to ensure that wealth planning needs are appropriately addressed.
You will provide guidance on succession and legacy planning, tax suitability, mobility planning, and wealth structuring—based on each client’s specific circumstances—to create added value and mitigate risk, collaborating with Compliance on an on‑demand basis to ensure alignment with KYC/AML requirements and internal policies.
The role also includes delivering training and presentations on compliant wealth planning strategies and options, helping clients stay ahead of fast-changing, increasingly complex regulations and protect their wealth while maximizing after‑tax income, and preparing timely, accurate internal Wealth Planning Alerts and client memorandums on the topics outlined above.
Proactive engagement with bankers to recognize and anticipate clients’ needs, and to identify, and capture business opportunities.
Provide and train Private Bankers with up-to-date, relevant technical information to understand impactful tax and legal developments and take proper action.
Identify, present and discuss appropriate and compliant wealth planning solutions and strategies to meet clients’ needs: deliver customized service and bespoke strategies.
Meet clients and prospects (including business travel with bankers).
Actively promote Wealth Planning services across the Bank via ad hoc presentations and publications on selected, high‑impact themes; actively support tax and legal wealth‑preservation objectives.
Maintain a high level of technical expertise on dedicated markets and take an effective, risk‑based and outcomes‑focused approach to mitigate risks.
Build and maintain a network of intermediaries such as trust and corporate service providers, tax and law firms.
Comply with external and internal compliance and regulatory requirements, including the Bank’s policies, operating procedures and controls to meet the Bank’s and regulatory requirements and protect the business from legal, financial and reputational risk.
Integrate with the local team of Wealth Planners based in Zurich; collaborate across UBP Group; report to Head of Wealth Planning – Switzerland, based in Geneva.
Support onboarding for structure‑heavy clients only upon Compliance request: UBO identification, rationale, required entity documentation, ownership charts, and justification memos to facilitate Compliance approval.
Perform periodic and event‑driven reviews (e.g., KYC refresh, trigger events) exclusively when initiated by Compliance.
12+ years of relevant experience in wealth planning services.
Broad, advanced knowledge across core wealth planning disciplines (tax, legal, succession, governance), evidenced by complex case execution and client impact.
