EveryWare in Zurich leads the design, build, and operation of cutting-edge cloud and IT services for business customers. The Senior System Engineer Kubernetes & Linux role focuses on creating a scalable Kubernetes platform, deploying pipelines, and steering automation initiatives across bespoke banking/insurance projects.
You will operate on-prem private cloud infrastructures, contribute to the Linux/Unix/DB stack, and provide timely incident analysis.
You will take the lead for a new Kubernetes platform - from the initial concept to stable operation.
Your new challenge is at EveryWare, the leading Swiss cloud and IT service provider with its own highly scalable data centre and network infrastructure in Zurich - specialising in the needs of business customers. With more than 20 years of expertise, the company designs and operates private, public and hybrid cloud architectures, hosting and managed IT platforms. Around 250 employees, 90% of whom are specialised engineers, bring international innovations practically into Swiss companies. Over 3000 companies and 30 business partners have already chosen EveryWare as a partner. More than 200 successfully completed major projects for business customers, including clients from the banking and insurance sectors, demonstrate EveryWare's competence.
You don’t just want to keep systems running, but build the platform behind them yourself? In Team Alpha, you take the lead in building new Kubernetes platforms - including the deployment pipeline. This is not a finished environment where you are assigned a part: something new is being created here, and you are the one building it.
Alongside this, together with your team colleagues, you are responsible for the infrastructure of our managed service customers from the banking and insurance environment. Everything runs on-premises in our own private cloud - we do not rent from a hyperscaler, we build ourselves. The team is small and communication is direct: if you have a good idea and can justify it, you implement it.
Your tasks at a glance:
One thing is really important to us, the rest is secondary: you have operated Kubernetes productively for several years. Not in a homelab and not "just started a container once", but have set up and been responsible for larger environments. The Linux background naturally follows from this.
In addition, you have an attitude that fits us: you organise yourself, like to make decisions independently and work your way into unfamiliar systems without waiting for finished documentation.
What you do not need to bring: Solaris, AIX or certificates. We assess your thinking in the interview based on a concrete case - not on paper.
Advantages: experience from the banking or insurance environment, with identity management (Authentik, FreeIPA).
Your new workplace is located in a unique building full of charm - in the heart of Zurich. Public transport and countless lunch options are within walking distance.
Our expertise in designing, building and operating leading platforms with the latest cloud technologies is reflected in over 200 successfully implemented major projects.
Technical enthusiasm meets comprehensive expertise. Here you benefit from a wealth of experience and a highly professional network.
You will find a working environment with us that constantly adapts to market and customer requirements. Therefore, many internal and external training opportunities await you.
As a Swiss company with over 20 years of success, we rely on stability, trust and long-term relationships - with customers and employees alike.
A structured induction programme with personal mentors enables you to start smoothly.
