Destinus is seeking a Senior Stress Engineer to lead sizing and structural analysis of pressure-loaded rocket motor components, including metallic and composite motor cases, under extreme thermal and mechanical conditions.

You will own analyses from initial sizing to verification and test correlation, collaborating with propulsion, materials, and manufacturing teams to ensure safe, producible designs and clear engineering documentation.

Qualifikationen

• MSc in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in stress or structural analysis of pressure-loaded aerospace components.
• Experience with rocket motor structures (e.g., motor cases or similar pressure-loaded propulsion hardware).
• Proficiency in metallic and composite pressure structures and hand calculations.
• Fluency in English; German is a plus.

Aufgaben

• Lead the structural sizing and stress analysis of rocket motor pressure structures, including metallic and composite motor cases.
• Perform analytical and numerical stress analyses (linear, nonlinear, buckling, fatigue, fracture, and damage tolerance) for high- pressure, high-temperature environments.
• Define and manage load cases and environments relevant to rocket motor operation.
• Develop methodologies for composite motor structures, including laminate theory and failure criteria.
• Collaborate with propulsion, materials, manufacturing, and systems teams to ensure sound, producible designs.
• Author and review stress reports, analysis documentation, and verification evidence.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of analysis methods.
