Zusammenfassung

Sygnum is building an AI-driven platform—the Sygnum AI Hub—within our Client Lifecycle & Banking Value Stream. As a senior software engineer, you will design, build, and deploy AI-powered agents that operate in a regulated banking environment, integrating with internal systems and data sources via the MCP protocol.

About the role

You will join our engineering team within the Client Lifecycle & Banking Value Stream, working closely with the AI & Data Analytics team to build the Sygnum AI Hub - our internal platform that brings agentic AI capabilities to every corner of the bank. Your work will span designing, building, and deploying AI-powered agents that transform how Sygnum operates across Client Lifecycle Management, Back-office operations, Productivity tooling, and Run-the-bank processes. As a senior software engineer, you will play a key role in building on top of foundational models (OpenAI, Anthropic Claude) using TypeScript, turning cutting-edge AI into production-grade solutions that are secure, reliable, and compliant with banking standards. A core part of your work will involve leveraging the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to connect AI agents with internal systems, APIs, and data sources - enabling agents to act on real banking workflows, not just generate text. You will shape how AI is adopted across the organization - not as a proof of concept, but as core infrastructure.

• You are excited about building production AI systems in a regulated environment - not just prototyping, but shipping and operating. You understand what it takes to move an LLM-based application from proof-of-concept to a governed, compliant product — handling sensitive data, access controls, audit trails, and the operational discipline expected in regulated industries.
• You have strong expertise in languages like Java, TypeScript and Phyton, with hands-on experience building applications on top of LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, or similar).
• You understand agent design patterns - ReAct, routing agents, planning agents, multi-agent orchestration – as well as the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and can choose the right architecture for the problem rather than defaulting to a framework.
• You have hands‑on experience designing and operating RAG pipelines end-to-end — chunking, embeddings, vector stores (e.g., pgvector, OpenSearch, Azure AI Search), hybrid search, and grounded answers with citations. You know the common failure modes and how to mitigate them with evaluation sets and retrieval metrics, and you recognize when RAG is the right tool versus fine‑tuning or agentic tool use.
• You think in systems: prompt engineering is one piece, but you care equally about reliability, observability, error handling, and user experience.
• You understand API design, microservices architecture, and are comfortable with containerization, and cloud platforms (AWS and Azure) and you care about quality and security and bake those aspects into the software development lifecycle.
• Experience and high motivation in the use of Claude Code, Codex or cursor similar tools.
• You are comfortable taking ownership of the whole development lifecycle, from designing solutions to running the application in production and get motivated by new opportunities and challenges.
