The Paul Scherrer Institute in Villigen, Switzerland, invites applications for a Senior Software Developer in the Real-Time and Embedded Systems Development group. You will independently develop, implement, and maintain control system software, including real-time applications, Linux/EPICS drivers, client applications, and UIs.
Candidates should hold a STEM degree, have strong C/C++ and kernel driver skills, and extensive experience with Linux, real-time, embedded, and distributed systems.
The Paul Scherrer Institute PSI is the largest research institute for natural and engineering sciences within Switzerland. The Control Systems section at PSI has around 35 developers and integrators divided into 6 groups. The Section develops and maintains core software tools, APIs, and building blocks that enable reliable and robust control systems for some of the world’s most advanced large-scale research facilities. Our control systems are based on the open-platform toolkit EPICS, addressing the demanding challenges of data acquisition and device control in modern accelerator and beamline environments.
