Job summary

SCOR seeks a Senior Python Developer to shape front-to-back logic for computationally intensive applications, using modern tech such as Python, DataBricks, Docker and Microsoft Azure. You will own key platform components and contribute to architecture, while mentoring peers and driving DevOps adoption.

You will collaborate with quant developers, engineers and IT teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutions in a cloud-first environment, with a focus on performance and maintainability.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years of professional experience building complex, scalable applications.
• Proficient in Git and DevOps standards.
• Thorough knowledge of Python and Docker.
• Deep full‑stack expertise with ownership of key platform components.
• Ability to contribute to architecture discussions and modern engineering practices.
• Experience mentoring colleagues as a technical reference point.
• Strong web development and web architecture skills.
• Solid grasp of OOP, FP and SOLID principles.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Several years in Financial Services, preferably Insurance/Reinsurance.
• Excellent English and strong communication skills.
• Team player with analytical mindset and curiosity about new technologies.
• Nice-to-have: cloud solutions (Azure/AWS), Spark/DataBricks, .NET/C#.

Responsibilities

• Design, efficient, testable, reusable, and reliable Python/Docker code on a web platform.
• Develop front-end and back-end solutions for task orchestration.
• Implement and design cloud-based solutions (primarily Azure).
• Work with Linux, Docker, DataBricks, JupyterHub and SQL Server.
• Collaborate with IT Technical team on automation, incidents and 3rd level support.
• Contribute to architecture choices and drive modernization efforts.
• Mentor peers and raise engineering standards within the team.
• Support migration of the system to a new web stack with a smooth transition.
