Job summary

IBM is seeking a Senior Program Leader to design and evolve large-scale enterprise cloud platforms across AWS and Azure, operating at the intersection of cloud architecture, platform engineering, and DevSecOps.

You will lead engineering teams, define cloud strategies, and deliver secure, automated, scalable cloud solutions for enterprise customers, shaping roadmaps and supporting major tenders with senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in cloud architecture, infrastructure or enterprise technology.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and Azure in multi-cloud environments.
• Ability to lead large engineering teams and drive architecture.
• Strong knowledge of IAM, networking, governance, security and cloud operations.
• Experience in working in Insurance sector is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and technical direction for enterprise-scale AWS and Azure platforms.
• Design cloud foundations covering account/subscription management, IAM, networking, DNS, shared services and governance.
• Develop multi-cloud governance and landing-zone strategies.
• Lead platform engineering and DevSecOps initiatives, with a strong focus on automation and self-service.
• Design solutions using serverless, microservices and NoSQL architectures.
• Provide technical leadership to large engineering teams and help establish engineering standards and best practices.
• Work directly with senior customer stakeholders, partners and executives to shape cloud strategies and technical roadmaps.
• Support major tenders, proposals and customer engagements from a technical perspective.
• Stabilise complex or distressed engagements and restore delivery quality and customer confidence.
• Identify and introduce new technologies and engineering practices, including AI-assisted development tools.
• Represent the organisation at customer events, conferences and industry meetup

Your role and responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Senior Program Leader to lead the design and evolution of large-scale enterprise cloud platforms across AWS and Azure.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role for someone who can operate comfortably at the intersection of cloud architecture, platform engineering, DevSecOps, customer advisory and technical team leadership.

You will work with enterprise customers to define cloud strategies, design scalable landing zones and foundations, guide engineering teams, and turn complex business requirements into secure, automated and highly scalable cloud solutions.

What you'll do

Required technical and professional expertise

• 10+ years of experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure or enterprise technology.

• Deep hands-on expertise with AWS, ideally supported by AWS professional-level certification.

• Strong experience with Azure and multi-cloud environments.

• Proven experience designing and operating large-scale enterprise cloud platforms.

• Strong knowledge of IAM, networking, governance, security and cloud operations.

• Experience with Platform Engineering, DevSecOps and Infrastructure as Code.

• Strong programming/automation capabilities, particularly Python, JavaScript, Terraform and/or CloudFormation.

• Experience leading technical teams and working with senior customer stakeholders.

• Strong consulting and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical subjects for both technical and executive audiences.

• Commercial awareness and experience supporting tenders, account development or sales engagements.

• Experience in working in Insurance sector.

• Fluent German and English.

• Swiss / EU nationality or Valid Swiss work permit.
