Job summary

Techfirm Engineering is seeking a Process Engineering Expert – Pharma/Biotech in Bern, Switzerland. This permanent, 100% role focuses on leading process technologies across investment projects from concept to qualification, in collaboration with QA, Operations, CQV, and Procurement.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in a related field with extensive pharma/biopharma process experience, GMP knowledge, and proven leadership in cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a process/biotech field is required.
• Extensive experience in pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical process engineering.
• Proven expertise in process system design, engineering and implementation in investment projects.
• Strong lifecycle experience from concept through procurement, commissioning, start-up and qualification.
• Knowledge of biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes and related equipment.
• Experience collaborating with CQV, QA, Operations, Plant Engineering and Procurement teams.
• Strong understanding of GMP and regulatory standards; engineering best practices.
• Experience leading technical reviews and coordinating multidisciplinary stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across process technologies and systems.
• Support investment projects from concept, design, procurement, start-up and qualification.
• Develop process concepts, design solutions and philosophies with QA, Operations and Engineering.
• Define, develop and roll out process standards and engineering philosophies aligning with global and local requirements.
• Coordinate technical activities involving multiple stakeholders and ensure alignment across project teams.
• Provide construction support and lead commissioning philosophies and field commissioning activities.
• Support qualification activities with CQV teams and validation functions.
• Organize and lead technical review meetings for cross-functional alignment and approvals.
• Collaborate with QA, Operations, Plant Engineering and Procurement to meet technical, operational and quality requirements.
• Ensure process solutions comply with regulations and internal standards across the global network.
