IPS-Integrated Project Services seeks a Senior Process Engineer to lead process design and project teams in our Basel, Switzerland office. The role focuses on designing and implementing manufacturing processes for biopharma facilities, from pilot to operation, with strong client interaction.

You will develop PFDs, P&IDs, and utility systems, while shaping process strategy, reliability, and compliance across projects. Extensive experience in aseptic processing and clean utilities is preferred.

Qualifikationen

• 15-20 years of process engineering design experience, preferably in biopharmaceuticals.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Chemical/Biochemical Engineering.
• Clean Pharma projects including aseptic filling/clean utilities.
• API / Chemical project experience.
• Proven experience generating PFDs, P&IDs, equipment and instrument data sheets, plus narratives.
• Knowledge of system design and applicable codes in process engineering.
• Strong time management and project leadership capabilities.

Job Description

At IPS, we are global leaders in developing innovative solutions for the consulting, architecture, engineering, project controls, procurement, construction management, and CQV of technically complex facilities, primarily in the life sciences industry. We are looking for a Senior Process Engineer to join our team at our office located in Switzerland.

In this role, you will lead projects and project teams. You will have a track record of dealing with Clients, particularly within the life sciences industry.

You'll have experience designing and implementing manufacturing processes, equipment, and plants (from pilot to fully operational). Assignments include specific tasks on project teams, and the Process Engineer should use their education, creativity, and expertise to resolve engineering problems and tasks as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities

• Assist/ act as the Lead Process Engineer with conceptual design deliverables such as Process Flow Diagrams and Material and Energy Balances.
• Estimate utility requirements for new manufacturing processes, and design utilities generation and distribution systems.
• Generate Process P&IDs that include controls strategy and CIP/SIP functions, if appropriate.
• Generate P&IDs for critical utility systems, such as WFI, USP Purified water, and Clean Steam.
• Perform engineering studies for expanding, improving, or automating existing facilities without supervision.
• Produce specifications and performance data sheets for process equipment and instrumentation.
• Make use of and participate in the development of company design and production tools, including process simulation and smart P&IDs.
• Assume ownership of the process-related aspects of a portion of a large project or an entire small project and provide technical support to the design team.
• Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with clients and members of the IPS design team.

Qualifications & Requirements

• 15-20 years of process engineering design experience, preferably in the Biopharmaceutical industry.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Chemical/Biochemical Engineering.
• Clean Pharma projects - aseptic filling/clean utilities etc.
• API / Chemical project experience
• Proven experience generating PFDs, P&IDs, process equipment and instrument data sheets as well as supporting narratives.
• General knowledge of system design and applicable codes in process engineering.
• Has demonstrated strong time management skills and the ability to manage projects, problem-solve, and communicate effectively with co-workers.

All interviews are conducted either in person or virtually, with video required.
