Job summary

Qualifications

• More than 10 years of experience in senior technical biopharmaceutical roles.
• BS/MS/PhD in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or related field.
• Deep expertise in upstream/downstream processing and single-use tech.
• Experience across batch and integrated bioprocesses; scale-up/scale-down.
• Regulatory awareness for complex multi-stakeholder projects.
• Proficiency with process modelling tools such as SuperPro Designer or BioSolve.
• Strategic thinker capable of C-level engagement.
• Strong communication in multicultural matrix environments.

Your role

Biopharmaceutical manufacturing is becoming more complex, and your expertise can help turn that complexity into robust, scalable production solutions. As a Senior Process Consultant in the Manufacturing Science & Technology team, you will advise customers across the full biopharmaceutical manufacturing lifecycle—from upstream production and downstream purification to final fill and finish. You will work across diverse modalities, including monoclonal antibodies, recombinant proteins, plasma products, and advanced therapy medicinal products. By understanding each customer’s challenges, you will shape practical technical strategies that improve process performance, reduce scale-up and implementation risk, and support reliable manufacturing. You will apply your knowledge of bioprocessing, biomanufacturing, engineering best practices, and single-use technologies to guide customers from development through implementation.

Your work will span process development, scale-up and scale-down, facility and process considerations, and the delivery of robust, flexible manufacturing strategies. You will build trusted relationships with technical experts, project stakeholders, and senior decision-makers, helping customers make confident choices in complex environments. As a thought leader and brand ambassador, you will share your expertise through customer seminars, training programmes, webinars, and industry conferences. Based in Switzerland, you will regularly travel across the EMEA region for customer engagements, industry events, and internal collaboration. Who You Are

• You have more than 10 years—and ideally around 15 years—of experience in senior technical roles within biopharmaceutical manufacturing, pilot-scale, and/or laboratory-scale environments.
• You hold a B.S., M.S., or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related engineering or scientific discipline.
• You bring deep expertise in upstream and downstream processing, single-use technologies, process development, scale-up and scale-down, and implementation across batch and integrated bioprocesses.
• You combine a strong scientific and engineering foundation with practical knowledge of facility design good practices and biopharmaceutical scaling and implementation requirements.
• You understand the regulatory aspects of bioprocess scale-up and implementation and can navigate compliance requirements in complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
• You have experience using process modelling tools such as SuperPro Designer, BioSolve, or comparable software.
• You are a customer-focused strategic thinker who can assess early-stage business opportunities, build high-level industry partnerships, and engage confidently with C-level executives.
• You communicate clearly and persuasively with diverse audiences, lead effectively in multicultural matrix environments, and have experience influencing without formal authority and/or providing technical leadership across multi-workstream projects.
