Bachem is expanding with a new site in Northwestern Switzerland, focusing on CAPEX-driven peptide production. We seek a Senior Process Automation Engineer (f/m/d) to lead downstream automation within this major project, coordinating with external partners and internal teams to deliver compliant, scalable automation solutions.

The role requires 8–10 years in pharma/biotech automation, strong DCS/PLC expertise (Siemens PCS7/PCSneo, TIA Portal, WinCC), and solid GMP/GAMP5 experience.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in automation, chemical engineering or related field.
• 8–10 years of experience in automation within pharma/biotech environments.
• Expertise in downstream process automation and DCS/PLC/BATCH control.

Aufgaben

• Downstream processing automation is the focus of responsibilities.
• Translate process requirements into automation concepts, batch logic and control strategies.
• Review and optimize automation designs and system architectures with external partners.
• Integrate systems into the automation landscape (DCS, PLC, MES, Historian).
• Ensure GMP, GAMP5, data integrity and validation requirements are met.
• Coordinate and lead external engineering firms, system integrators and contractors.
• Collaborate with Engineering, MSAT, IT/OT, and Quality.
• Support the project from concept through commissioning, qualification and handover.
• Contribute to standardization and development of automation concepts for the new site.
• Ensure delivery in terms of quality, budget, and timeline.
