Position Summary

The Senior Manager, EM Procurement Strategy & Warehousing Initiatives is a strategic delivery role within External Manufacturing Procurement. The role partners with the EM Global Category Leader and subcategory leaders to convert priorities into clear programs, decisions and measurable outcomes across a complex global supplier landscape. The position directly leads selected business-critical initiatives, establishes portfolio governance, develops insights for leadership decisions, and drives cross-functional execution. As part of this broader portfolio, the role may also lead selected strategic external warehousing, overflow-storage and capacity projects where focused procurement leadership is required. The role requires the ability to challenge constructively, influence stakeholders without direct authority, and move ambiguous initiatives from concept to implementation. The position is accountable for structuring problems, shaping recommendations, enabling decisions and driving outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead High-Impact Cross-Functional Programs
    • Own the integrated portfolio of EM strategic initiatives, translating category priorities into defined outcomes, roadmaps, milestones, decision points and accountabilities.
    • Lead selected enterprise and EM initiatives from scoping through implementation, with direct accountability for outcomes rather than coordination alone.
    • Current examples may include late-stage customization, A&D integration activities, supplier or contract programs and future strategic initiatives identified through the EM portfolio.
    • Create executive-ready recommendations where projects require strategic choices, investment decisions, supplier engagement or operating-model changes.
  2. Strategic Warehousing, Capacity & Space Projects
    • Provide strategic procurement leadership for selected external warehousing, overflow-storage, capacity and warehouse-space requirements as part of the broader EM project portfolio, rather than as a full-time warehousing category role.
    • Partner with Supply Chain, Deliver, Manufacturing and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into clear sourcing strategies, commercial options and fact-based recommendations.
    • Lead or support market assessments, supplier strategies, sourcing events, commercial evaluations and negotiations for selected warehousing and logistics projects.
    • Shape recommendations that balance capacity flexibility, cost-to-serve, service, compliance, business continuity and risk.
    • Contribute procurement insight to network, footprint, capacity and overflow-space decisions, and establish appropriate supplier governance where projects transition into operation.
  3. Business Performance, Value & Financial Leadership
    • Lead the orchestration of EM business planning, budget planning and financial forecasting activities in partnership with Finance and category leadership.
    • Own the consolidated view of savings, productivity, value creation, commitments, risks and opportunities across the portfolio.
    • Challenge assumptions, identify performance gaps and drive recovery actions with accountable owners.
  4. Data, Insights & Decision Enablement
    • Own the evolution of the EM Procurement KPI dashboard and portfolio scorecards, with emphasis on actionable insights, leading indicators and business outcomes.
    • Simplify and automate management information wherever possible, reducing manual reporting and improving data quality.
    • Synthesize complex information into clear choices, implications and recommendations for senior leadership.
    • Ensure governance forums focus on decisions, actions and value delivery rather than status reporting.
  5. Operating Model & Organizational Effectiveness
    • Lead improvements to EM Procurement ways of working, governance, prioritization and cross-functional interfaces.
    • Design and facilitate leadership workshops and strategic planning sessions, including future Elevate activities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Significant experience in one or more of the following: strategy or management consulting; procurement, category management or strategic sourcing; supply chain and logistics; or warehousing and logistics procurement
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional initiatives in a global matrix environment and delivering measurable business outcomes
  • Strong problem-structuring and analytical capability, with the ability to move from ambiguous questions to fact-based recommendations and executable plans
  • Understanding of procurement, category management, supplier relationship management, sourcing, negotiation and commercial value levers
  • Experience in logistics, external warehousing, distribution networks or logistics service providers is an advantage, but is not required to be the candidate’s sole area of expertise
  • Strong financial acumen, including business planning, forecasting, value tracking and interpretation of performance drivers
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders without direct authority and to challenge constructively
  • Excellent executive communication, facilitation, stakeholder management and presentation skills
  • Experience with portfolio management, analytics, data visualization and automation of management reporting
  • Occasional travel may be required 5–10%
