Philip Jung Consulting in Zürich is seeking a (Senior) IT Application and Data Manager to lead Synergy2, shaping data, reporting and automation across underwriting, operations, finance, claims and pricing.

You will own applications, coordinate with vendors and stakeholders, manage data quality, implement BI solutions with Power BI and SAP Business Objects, and drive IT governance in a small, agile team.

(Senior) IT Application and Data Manager

About your role

As part of a two-person IT team, you will play a key role in shaping and advancing the company'stechnology, data, and reporting landscape. You will combine the responsibilities of applicationowner, business solutions partner, data specialist, and project manager in a highly visibleposition with direct exposure to senior management.

You will take ownership of the company's core reinsurance platform, Synergy2, and help drive thedigitalization and continuous improvement of business processes across underwriting,operations, finance, claims, and reporting. Working closely with business stakeholders, externalvendors, and technology partners, you will ensure that systems, data, and reporting capabilitieseffectively support the company's strategic objectives and future growthThis role offers an opportunity to make a tangible impact in an international reinsurancecompany. Key responsibilities

Application Ownership & Business Solutions

• Product owner for Synergy2, the core reinsurance administration platform, managebacklogs, testing and ongoing improvements
• Act as the primary liaison between business users and external vendors translating businessrequirements into practical technology solutions
• Design and deliver business solutions, defining requirements, scope, priorities, and UAT whileidentifying opportunities for process optimization and automation
• Lead and coordinate IT projects from requirements through implementation and postdeploymentsupport

Business Analytics, Reporting & Automation

• Design and maintain data flows and integrations between Synergy2 and reporting, finance,underwriting, claims and pricing systems
• Ensure data quality, integrity and consistency across applications and databases
• Support quarterly and annual financial closing processes through data extraction,reconciliation, and reporting
• Develop and maintain reporting and analytics solutions using Power BI, SAP Business Objects,MS SQL
• Deliver management information and reporting solutions for underwriting, portfoliomonitoring, claims, receivables, cash allocation, and pricingContribute to IT Governance, Infrastructure, and Vendor Management
• Manage the IT budget and support cost control activities in collaboration with Finance.
• Occasional coordination of IT audits and related follow-up tasks in collaboration with RiskManagement/Compliance

Skills & experience

Education & Languages

• University degree (MSc or BSc) in Information Systems, Business Information Systems,Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field
• Fluent English is required
• Korean and/or additional European languages are considered an advantageProfessional Experience
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in IT application management, businessintelligence, data management, technology, preferably within the (re-)insurance or financialservices sector.
• Experience managing third-party software vendors and technology service providers.
• Experience in designing and supporting business-critical applications and data environments.
• Good understanding of insurance or reinsurance business processes, including underwriting,operations, finance, reinsurance accounting and reportingTechnical Skills
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases, preferably MS SQL
• Experience with Power BI, Business Objects and Excel-based reporting solution
• Familiarity with automation technologies and API-based integrations is an advantage
• Basic understanding of application and data architecture, system integration, cloud concepts,and modern IT infrastructure environments
• Some experience with workflow-, analytics, and data processing platforms, e.g. Alteryx, orsimilar toolsPersonal Attributes
