Job summary

Kistler Group in Switzerland is seeking a Senior Embedded Linux Engineer/Architect to design and evolve our embedded Linux platform. You will develop BSPs, Linux drivers, and kernel/bootloader integration while bringing up new ARM/x86 hardware and shaping the platform architecture.

The role emphasizes security aspects (Secure Boot, updates) and Yocto-based builds; collaboration with product teams across hardware, software, and security domains. Fluency in English; German preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience as Senior Embedded Linux Engineer/Architect in hardware-related environment.
• Strong knowledge in BSP and Linux driver development; kernel and bootloader integration; Yocto/BitBake.
• Experience in embedded device security (Secure Boot, updates, vulnerability management).
• Fluent English and preferably German.
• Nice to have extensive Linux/embedded systems background, CI/CD etc.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain BSPs and Linux drivers based on shared firmware platform.
• Shape architecture of embedded Linux platform and drive long-term evolution.
• Bring up new ARM and x86 hardware platforms; integrate kernels, bootloaders and device trees.
• Ensure security aspects: Secure Boot, software updates, vulnerability management.
• Maintain Yocto-based build environment and support BSPs; consult product teams on Yocto, BSP and Linux topics.
