Magpie Projects Holding GmbH is seeking an experienced consultant (m/f/d) to shape the financial services landscape with cutting-edge technology and strategic insight. You will advise banks and exchanges, design innovative settlement strategies, and lead post-trade improvements across global clients.

You will work closely with an international team, using AI and digital tools to enhance efficiency, risk management, and regulatory compliance while traveling on-site to client sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related field.
• Master's/MBA/PhD strongly considered.
• 2–4 years of experience in financial services/post-trade operations.
• Understanding of market mechanisms and regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Advise banks, asset managers, and exchanges on strategic matters to streamline operations.
• Design and implement strategies for trade processing, clearing and settlement.
• Optimize post-trade workflows including custody and reconciliation.
• Navigate regulatory frameworks such as T+1 Settlement, MiFID II, CSDR, Basel III.
• Leverage automation and AI to transform settlement processes.
• Create and implement TOMs with clients to improve efficiency.
• Participate in workshops, training sessions, and presentations.

Your responsibilities

• Advise banks, asset managers, and exchanges on strategic matters to help them streamline their operations and enhance settlement efficiency.

• Design and implement innovative strategies for seamless trade processing, clearing, and settlement to optimize overall processes.

• Optimize post-trade workflows, for example in areas such as collateral management, custody, and reconciliation, to maximize efficiency.

• Navigate complex regulatory frameworks (such as T+1 Settlement, MiFID II, and CSDR) to ensure compliance and drive operational excellence.

• Leverage automation, AI, and emerging technologies to revolutionize settlement processes and drive digital transformation.

• Create and implement Target Operating Models (TOM) in close collaboration with clients to address risks, improve efficiency, and strengthen financial market infrastructures.

• Contribute to workshops, training sessions, and presentations to share knowledge and empower professionals with cutting‑edge expertise in settlement and operations.

Your ticket

• Your educational foundation is a degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree, MBA, or PhD is a strong plus.

• You bring 2-4 years of experience and a deep understanding of market mechanisms, focusing strongly on financial operations, settlement, collateral management, custody, or post-trade services.

• Regulatory frameworks like T+1 Settlement, MiFID II, CSDR, or Basel III are familiar to you, and you understand their practical implications on daily operations.

• Confidently and precisely, you communicate in both German and English to make complex technical and regulatory topics easily understandable for diverse stakeholders.

• You tackle complex challenges with a forward-thinking and solution-oriented approach, easily connecting the dots to develop smart strategies.

• As a true team player, you stand out with intercultural competence, a great sense of humor, an entrepreneurial mindset, and a hands‑on approach – including readiness for on‑site client work.
