Zusammenfassung

SAEKI in Zurich is seeking a senior software engineer to build geometry-heavy tooling for autonomous factories. You will design, implement, and ship features around CAD/CAM pipelines, relying on modern C++ and Python with potential Rust usage.

You will work on end-to-end ownership, limited by manufacturing constraints and real-part robustness, collaborating with a tight team at the Zurich HQ with occasional visits to Munich Factory ONE.

Qualifikationen

  • 5+ years building geometry-heavy software in production
  • Experience with CAD/CAM, geometry kernels, CAE/simulation prep or similar
  • Strong C++ (17+) and Python; Rust welcome
  • Hands-on with a geometry kernel; familiarity with STEP and interoperability

SAEKI is building the operating system for autonomous factories - the infrastructure that lets Europe manufacture mission-critical components at software speed.

What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years building geometry-heavy software in production - CAD/CAM, geometry kernels, feature recognition, CAE/simulation preparation, metrology, or comparable.
  • B-rep and Mesh Depth. You think natively in topology and NURBS. Feature recognition, defeaturing, robust booleans, offsetting, surface/surface intersection, healing and repair. You know exactly why floating-point robustness destroys naive implementations - and what to do about it. You have had the opportunity to delve into complex CAD models and are able to assess their quality in both quantitative and qualitative terms (gaps in edge, spikes in loops, tiny elements, twisted surfaces...) and ultimately predict which types of processing might be challenged.
  • Kernel Fluency. Hands-on with a geometry kernel - Parasolid, OpenCASCADE, ACIS, or equivalent - and the judgment to know which parts can be developed in-house in order to retain full control and IP rights, and which parts too complex (e.g. advanced solvers) should be integrated as 3rd parties. Comfortable with mesh and point-cloud processing (libigl, Open3D, CGAL, PCL) alongside solid modelling.YOU know well STEP file format and about integration into collaboration & interoperability processes.
  • Technical Excellence. Strong command of modern C++ (17+), plus Python for rapid iteration. Rust is welcome. You write and test performant code.
  • Manufacturing Instinct. Some knowledge of fabrication techniques-casting, stamping, composites, and additive manufacturing-alongside toolsets for evaluating design manufacturability, risk profiles, quality standards, and cost factors.
  • End-to-End Ownership. Algorithm design through to a shipped, tested, maintained service.
  • First Principles Thinker. You reason by physics and mathematics, not analogy. When an algorithm fails on a real part, you know whether the bug is in the code, the model, or the assumption.
  • Industrial Grit. You want to stand next to the machine in Germany and watch your output run. The feedback loop between your code and cutting metal is the point.
  • Maniacal Urgency. Speed is our only edge. You thrive in the 'chaos-to-order' phase of a startup.
  • On-site: Ability to work in person at our HQ in Zurich, Switzerland.
What We're Not Looking For
  • Researchers who want to publish and hand off. You ship.
  • CAD users. This is a role for people who build the tools, not drive them.
  • Engineers who need a clean spec. The problem is defined by the part, the machine, and the customer - you'll go find it.
  • People who treat 'it works on the test model' as done. Real customer CAD is broken, degenerate, and adversarial. That is the job.
  • Engineers who are uncomfortable with ambiguity or rapidly changing priorities.
