Jobgether, on behalf of our partner company, seeks a Senior Software Engineer (YDB Team) based in Switzerland to work on a scalable open-source distributed database platform. You will contribute high-performance C++ components, optimize storage and networking, and collaborate across infrastructure, storage, and AI-focused teams to deliver production-grade software.

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years of professional experience developing in C or C++ for highly loaded, performance-critical systems.
• Strong understanding of low-level systems concepts, including CPU caches and NUMA architectures.
• Proven experience developing high-performance and low-latency software components.
• Ability to investigate complex production issues using core dumps and profiling tools.
• Experience with on-disk data structures such as LSM trees or B+ trees is a strong advantage.
• Knowledge of storage devices and networking concepts, including NVMe, HDDs, IP/TCP/UDP.

Aufgaben

• Develop and optimize YDB components to leverage modern hardware (QLC NVMe drives, high-bandwidth networks, DPUs).
• Improve performance across storage technologies (HDDs, TLC NVMe).
• Reengineer system components with efficient algorithms for scalability and reliability.
• Design and implement high-performance, low-latency software for production systems.
• Analyze system behavior and identify bottlenecks using profiling and debugging techniques.
• Work on distributed storage and database infrastructure for AI/cloud workloads.
• Contribute to reliability, availability, and durability of distributed systems.
• Collaborate with teams across infrastructure, storage, networking, and AI.
• Contribute to open-source codebase and participate in design decisions.
