Jobbasel is representing a well-established financial institution in Basel seeking a Senior Banking Integration Engineer. You will design, implement and operate real-time, container-based integration services to support critical banking processes and client experiences.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with banking platforms, OpenShift, Kafka, REST APIs and Avaloq certifications. This role requires on-site work in Basel with English fluency and a CH work permit.

Role & Responsibilities

As Senior Banking Integration Engineer, you will contribute to the design, implementation and operation of modern integration services within a complex banking environment. Working closely with software engineering, infrastructure and release management teams, you will help deliver scalable, real-time integration solutions that support critical banking processes and enhance the overall client experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable integration services within a modern container-based banking platform
• Contribute to strategic integration initiatives involving real-time data exchange and event-driven architectures
• Develop and support APIs, integration services and messaging solutions across multiple banking applications
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration and data flow issues across distributed systems

Candidate Profile

You hold a university-level qualification in Computer Science, Business Information Systems or a related discipline and bring hands-on experience in system integration within a banking or financial services environment. You are passionate about modern integration technologies, enjoy solving complex technical challenges and thrive in collaborative environments.

Additionally

• First professional experience in system integration, software integration or API development within the banking or financial services sector
• Hands-on experience with banking platforms, core banking environments or financial applications is highly desirable
• Experience with Avaloq is considered a major advantage and will be highly valued throughout the selection process
• Avaloq Academy certifications, such as ACIP or other Avaloq-related certifications, are highly desirable
• Knowledge of OpenShift, Apache Kafka, OpenAPI, REST APIs, Java and/or .NET is advantageous
• Exposure to container-based platforms, cloud-native deployment concepts and event-driven architectures
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities effectively
• Hands-on mentality with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Fluent in English
• Valid CH work permit or EU/EFTA citizenship required
• Willingness to work 100% on-site
