Job summary

Jobgether SRL on behalf of a partner company in Switzerland is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Node.js/Python) to design, develop and operate backend and AI-enabled systems for an electric mobility platform. You will build scalable web services using Node.js, TypeScript and Python, collaborating across AI, product, frontend, QA, DevOps and partners.

The role emphasizes architectural ownership, distributed systems, and robust RESTful APIs, with cloud deployments (AWS) and modern engineering

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience designing, building, and operating production‑grade web services.
• Strong CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, concurrency and related concepts.
• Extensive experience with distributed systems and scalable backends.
• Proficiency with Node.js and TypeScript; experience with Express or NestJS.
• Designing, developing, and maintaining production‑grade RESTful APIs.
• API versioning, authentication, rate limiting, pagination, and reliability best practices.
• Experience with microservices, event‑driven architectures, and CQRS.
• Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices.
• SQL databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) with performance tuning.
• English proficiency; strong documentation and collaboration.
• AWS deployments (Lambda, ECS/EKS, RDS, SQS, CloudWatch).
• Python backend development is highly desirable.
• Experience owning end‑to‑end technical projects and architectural decisions.
• Familiarity with NoSQL (MongoDB) is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and operate scalable web services and APIs using Node.js, TypeScript, and Python.
• Lead AI‑based backend solutions and integrate Python AI tools into production services.
• Make high‑level architecture and technical decisions balancing scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Build production‑grade RESTful APIs with authentication, versioning, rate limiting, and pagination.
• Develop distributed systems using microservices, event‑driven patterns, and CQRS.
• Troubleshoot production issues and maintain system stability and quality.
• Establish and enforce coding standards for clean, maintainable code.
• Collaborate with AI, product, frontend, QA, DevOps, and external partners.
• Own technical backlog with transparent priorities.
• Evaluate technologies and engineering approaches to improve speed and outcomes.
• Contribute to process improvements and documentation.
