Job summary

Allianz Risk Transfer (ART) in Wallisellen (Zurich) is seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst to deepen expertise across risk capital, reserving and pricing within a complex, international insurance setting. You will own actuarial topics, develop models and mentor junior staff within a global organisation serving 70+ countries.

You will work on end-to-end analyses, enhance processes, and collaborate across underwriting, claims and finance to improve financial outcomes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Progress towards a recognised actuarial qualification is an advantage.
• 3–5 years of experience across multiple actuarial areas such as reserving, capital modelling or pricing.
• Experience across multiple lines of business and ideally multiple types (P&C, reinsurance, corporate).
• Strong quantitative financial and risk modelling skills; knowledge of stochastic modelling.
• Ability to communicate actuarial results clearly to stakeholders at different levels of seniority.

Join Allianz Risk Transfer (ART) in Wallisellen (Zurich), as a full-time Senior Actuarial Analyst and become part of a collaborative, specialist team at the forefront of corporate insurance and reinsurance. In this role, you will take ownership of assigned actuarial topics, contribute to model development and process improvement, and grow into a recognised expert actuary within a global organisation serving clients across 70+ countries.

What You-ll Do

• Prepare and perform actuarial analyses for your assigned business area, including full documentation, communication, and explanation of results to relevant stakeholders.
• Drive assigned actuarial topics end-to-end - from stochastic modelling of underwriting risk to the discounting of technical provisions - under the guidance of the team and Chief Actuary.
• Develop and enhance global actuarial approaches, processes, and models to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Support projects through documentation and testing, ensuring quality and consistency across deliverables.
• Promote close collaboration with business areas across Group, Underwriting, Claims, and CFO functions to foster mutual understanding of how business developments impact actuarial drivers in the financials.
• Keep abreast of leading market practice and drive innovation within the actuarial function.
• Peer review work from fellow team members and provide mentoring and guidance to junior actuarial staff.
• Actively identify and suggest process improvements, leveraging your growing understanding of the business and its operations

What You'll Bring

• Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related quantitative discipline - or equivalent experience.
• Progress towards a recognised professional actuarial qualification (e.g., first actuarial exams passed) is an advantage.
• 3-5 years of business experience, preferably spanning multiple actuarial areas such as reserving, capital modelling, or pricing.
• Experience across multiple lines of business and, ideally, multiple types of business (e.g., P&C, reinsurance, corporate insurance).
• Demonstrated contribution to the development, enhancement, and implementation of actuarial models, analyses, and processes.
• Strong quantitative financial and risk modelling skills, including knowledge of stochastic modelling techniques.
• Ability to communicate actuarial results clearly and effectively to stakeholders at various levels of seniority.
• Solid finance and insurance know-how, ideally in P&C, with an understanding of the complexities inherent in an insurance group (consolidation processes, legal vs. management view).
• Job-specific knowledge of market dynamics, standard actuarial concepts, regulations and compliance standards, and reporting requirements - including reinsurance and underwriting knowledge, reserving techniques, and data flows.
• Advanced computer skills including MS Office (incl. VBA) and relevant expert systems such as Matlab, R, SQL, or Java.
• Experience in an international working environment, including comfort with cross-border collaboration.
• Proficiency in English; a second language is considered an asset.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted actuarial tools, data analytics platforms, or automation workflows is a plus
