Job summary

ISP in Geneva is seeking a Secondary English Teacher for KS4 and KS5, with the potential for a curriculum leadership role for the right candidate. You will deliver high-quality English lessons, assess coursework, and support students to achieve excellent GCSE and A-level results.

You should have a degree in English or humanities and familiarity with UK/International exam boards. Experience in drama, EAL and SEND is an asset, and a collaborative, student-centred approach is essential.

Qualifications

• A minimum of three years English teaching experience in a UK state or independent school or recognised international school teaching the British Curriculum.
• An English language, literature or humanities degree from a university or institution of higher education.
• Experience of teaching English at Key Stage 3, 4 and 5.
• A Track record of excellent GCSE and A level results.
• Knowledge of the English National Curriculum, GCSE English Language and English Literature and of UK/International exam boards such as AQA, OCR or Pearson Edexcel.
• Experience of active approaches to learning English and using drama in the classroom.
• Experience teaching EAL and SEND students.
• An enthusiastic and creative approach to teaching, which inspires pupils and enables learning to be engaging and relevant.
• A commitment to helping students to develop a broad range of skills and attributes. A commitment to an interconnected curriculum and to working with colleagues across a range of disciplines.
• The ability to communicate effectively with pupils, colleagues and parents and to work as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high impact English lessons in KS4 and KS5 and prepare coursework, marking and assessment.
• Follow syllabuses and ensure knowledge of GCSE/A level requirements.
• Support students to fulfil potential and provide feedback and progress tracking.
• Lead and participate in extra-curricular activities and examinations support as required.
• Collaborate with Curriculum Lead and colleagues across disciplines.
