Jobbeschreibung

About MESH

MESH is automating rebar fabrication and construction processes using robotics and software. Our mission is to bring modern robotics and industrial‑grade automation to one of the most fragmented and under‑invested industries, enabling faster, safer, and more precise construction through systems that integrate seamlessly into existing workflows.

We design and deploy robotic solutions that operate in harsh, real‑world production environments — not labs or demos. Our work spans mechanical systems, robotics, software, and industrial automation, with a strong focus on robustness, simplicity, and deployability.

MESH is based in Switzerland, with in‑house workshops and robot testing facilities. We work closely with partners across the construction and machinery ecosystem and regularly test our systems in production and on‑site environments. We value close collaboration and hands‑on engineering and primarily work on‑site with our hardware.

About the Role

As Robotics Product Engineer, you’ll own the products Mesh has already brought to market — starting with Actuate and Node systems — which are running today in customer deployments. Your job is to keep them working well, get better at what they do, and grow them into their full potential in the field.

You’ll sit at the intersection of software, hardware, and the customer floor. You’re comfortable writing production Python, but just as comfortable being on‑site (virtually or in person) with a customer’s robotic cell, watching how a workflow actually behaves, and figuring out why it’s not performing the way it should.

This is a role for someone who wants their work to matter to customers running Mesh products right now, and who gets satisfaction from taking a live system from “working” to “working well.”

Tasks

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the primary engineering point of contact for customer deployments of Mesh Actuate, Mesh Node, and future shipped products
  • Monitor deployed systems, diagnose issues, identify root causes across the software/hardware stack and provide remote support
  • Design and implement improvements to robotic workflows — cycle time, reliability, error handling, edge‑case behavior — based on real deployment data and customer feedback
  • Write and ship production Python code that improves product performance and stability
  • Work directly with industrial robot integrations, understanding both the software control layer and the physical/mechanical constraints of the cell
  • Translate patterns you see across multiple deployments into product or platform improvements, not just one‑off fixes
  • Build tooling, monitoring, and diagnostics that make it faster to understand what’s happening in a live deployment
  • Partner with customer‑facing teams to prioritize the improvements that matter most
  • Feed structured learnings back to the R&D organization when deployment experience should inform future product decisions
  • Support with the deployment of our robotic systems.
Requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ Years professional working experience, either software engineering experience, with strong Python skills applied to real production systems or experience working with industrial robots or robotic systems in a shipping product context — you understand programming them, integrating them, and where they break
  • A background that includes shipping hardware and/or software robotic products, not just prototyping them
  • Strong analytical and diagnostic instincts — you can look at a misbehaving system and reason through where in the stack (mechanical, electrical, control, software) the problem actually lives
  • Solid understanding of the tradeoffs and constraints between hardware and software, and how to work within them rather than around them
  • Familiarity with the data flow between ERP/MES systems and the factory floor; you know how to talk to a client’s IT department.
  • Comfort working directly with customers and deployed systems, including troubleshooting issues that aren't fully reproducible in a lab
  • An engineering background (formal or equivalent experience) that gives you the fundamentals to reason about mechanical and electrical systems, not just code
  • Self‑direction — this role often means identifying the improvement that matters most, not waiting to be assigned one
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites.
  • Working proficiency in English; German and/or French is a strong plus

Nice to Have

  • Experience with a specific industrial robot platform or manufacturer’s SDK/control interface
  • Familiarity with fleet monitoring, telemetry, or observability tooling for distributed hardware
  • Experience being the engineering liaison for enterprise or industrial customers

At MESH, you are a foundational builder, not just an employee. We offer a high‑growth environment where your work directly transforms one of the world’s most essential industries. Beyond a competitive salary, we provide a comprehensive Employee Stock Option Plan (ESOP), ensuring you share in the long‑term success and ownership of the company. Join us in Switzerland to turn ambitious robotics R&D into the industrial standard of tomorrow.
