Job summary

EPFL in Lausanne invites applicants to join a robotics/ML research team. You will build software frameworks for control and learning, validate experiments with researchers, and design hardware from electronics to mechanics. The role includes presenting成果 to visitors and at events.

Required Masters/PhD in robotics or ML, strong Python/C++ skills, Linux/ROS2 experience, and familiarity with Git and Docker. Remote work is possible some days, with presence on the EPFL Lausanne campus.

You will work across multiple teams, developing and maintaining software frameworks for robotic control and machine learning, implement experimental validation with lab researchers, conduct systematic robotic evaluation and design new hardware (sensor choice and integration, robotic construction from electronic boards to mechanical design), make demonstrations to lab visitors and at external events.

Profile

• Completed Masters or PhD in Robotics, Machine Learning or a related technical field.
• You have a strong background in programming (Python, C++, matlab, etc), robotic control and usage of machine learning techniques.
• Experience with Linux and ROS / ROS2 framework is strongly preferred.
• You are familiar with modern software development workflows including git and Docker.
• English required and French a plus
• Valid Swiss or EU/EFTA work permit required
