Skydio is seeking a Software Engineer to build and optimize the real-time Skydio Simulator core, accurately modeling physics and sensors in Zürich. You will work deep in the simulator stack—from physics and sensor simulation to the core architecture that runs our autonomy software in simulation.

This role emphasizes correctness, performance, and realism; robotics experience is not required, but curiosity about physical systems and autonomous robots is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering experience with C++ and Python.

Responsabilités

• Design, implement, and evolve the core Skydio Simulator architecture.
• Improve physics and dynamics models for vehicle motion and environment interactions.
• Build high-fidelity sensor and hardware simulations (cameras, IMUs).
• Run the full autonomy stack in simulation and ensure alignment with real-world behavior.
• Develop core simulator components in C++ and Python under real-time constraints.
• Collaborate with autonomy, perception, and controls engineers to mirror real-world systems.
