Due to our high growth and commitment to technology, Medacta is looking for a passionate and experienced Software Engineer specialized in Robotics to join our team and work directly with robotic to development applications for orthopedic surgery. The ideal candidate has a strong theoretical and practical background and is eager to apply their skills to develop and optimize complex robotic applications.

The candidate will be responsible for managing the following activities:

  • develop, program and maintain software applications and new functionalities for robotic applications used in surgical procedures;
  • design and implement trajectory planning algorithms to ensure the highest precision, repeatability and safety in the positioning and movement of surgical instruments;
  • work on real-time control logic and robot dynamics to optimize performance and enhance interaction between the surgeon and the robot;
  • collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate robotic systems with other medical devices and software platforms;
  • perform rigorous testing, simulations and validation to guarantee reliability, accuracy and compliance with medical standards in operating room environments.
Hard Skills
  • bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field;
  • some prior experience in industrial robot programming is required. Experience in the medical or surgical robotics field is a strong advantage;
  • solid experience with Java and Python; proficiency in C++ is considered a significant plus;
  • excellent understanding of algebra and geometry, with strong proficiency in matrix calculations and spatial transformations;
  • strong grasp of trajectory planning principles and robot dynamics, including kinematics, joint motion, and force control;
  • fluent in English.
