Destinus is seeking a Propellant Production Technician at our Lucerne facility. This hands-on, safety-critical role focuses on solid rocket motor propellant production in a regulated environment, with emphasis on accurate documentation and strict quality control.

You will mix, cast, cure and inspect batches, operate casting stations and ovens, maintain batch records, and collaborate with QA and production teams to continuously improve processes while upholding safety standards.

Qualifikationen

• Background in chemistry or chemical production; Chemielaborant EFZ is a plus.
• Hands-on experience in chemical or batch production; hazardous materials experience is a plus.
• Ability to follow SOPs and batch records with high accuracy and discipline.
• Experience with quality control and in-process inspection.
• Fluent in German or English is an advantage.

About the Role

The Destinus engineering team is seeking a Propellant Production Technician to support the serial manufacturing of solid rocket motor propellant at our Lucerne facility. The role is hands‑on and process‑focused, working directly with energetic and chemical materials in a tightly regulated, safety‑critical production environment.

The ideal candidate is technically grounded, detail‑oriented, and comfortable following precise procedures without shortcuts. They understand that in this environment, quality and safety are inseparable, and that meticulous documentation is as much a part of the job as the production work itself.

What You'll Do

• Carry out propellant mixing, casting, and curing operations for solid rocket motor grains following validated batch records and SOPs
• Weigh, prepare, and handle energetic and chemical raw materials in accordance with applicable safety protocols, permits, and operating procedures
• Operate and monitor production equipment (mixers, casting stations, curing ovens) and record process parameters accurately throughout each batch
• Complete batch documentation fully and accurately; maintain traceability of materials, process parameters, and production records for every run
• Perform in‑process quality checks and dimensional or visual inspections; identify and elevate non‑conformances promptly
• Support the assembly & integration and packaging of the final product
• Support troubleshooting and corrective actions in collaboration with the Production Manager, engineering, and QA teams
• Keep the production area clean, organised, and compliant with housekeeping and safety standards at all times
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of production processes and safety practices

What You'll Need

• Background in chemistry, chemical production, or a related technical field, Chemielaborant EFZ qualification is a plus
• Hands‑on experience in a chemical or process manufacturing environment, ideally batch production; experience with energetic, pyrotechnic, or otherwise hazardous materials is a strong advantage
• Familiarity with safety‑critical production procedures, hazardous materials handling, and relevant Swiss regulations (SUVA, StFV)
• Ability to follow, and maintain SOPs and batch records with a high level of accuracy and discipline
• Experience with quality control and in‑process inspection in a production or laboratory environment
• High attention to detail and a methodical, safety‑first approach to all production activities
• Fluent in German or English is an advantage
