Job summary

ETH Zurich's Design++ Center invites applications for two two-year postdoctoral fellowships focused on advancing AI/XR methods for AEC and urban/landscape planning. You will co-mentor with ETH professors and co-hosts, framing challenges, selecting tools, and delivering impact-driven research.

You will lead research, share progress, present findings, and engage with the Design++ community across workshops, schools, and events; teaching duties may account for up to 25% of time.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant field (e.g., architecture, civil, CS, mechanical engineering, material science).
• Strong fit to Design++ scope and impact goals.
• Evidence of research excellence (publications/awards) preferred.
• Experience with AI/ML, XR, robotics, simulation, or optimization preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead your proposed research.
• Share quarterly progress updates with Halter Group to support knowledge transfer.
• Deliver a mid-term and final presentation + report.
• Engage with the Design++ community (industry exchanges, workshops, schools, events).
• Teaching/other duties up to 25% as set by co-hosts.
