Qualifications

  • Completed PhD in robotics, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, electrical engineering, or related field.
  • Hands-on hardware research experience designing, fabricating and validating sensing/actuation systems.
  • Expertise in at least one sensing modality (tactile/force/optical) with published results.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design, fabrication, and characterization of compact tactile sensing modules providing multi-axis force information.
  • Benchmark and select sensing modalities suitable for project requirements.
  • Integrate sensors into tendon-driven robotic hand platforms and optimize readout electronics and packaging.
  • Design benchmarks and demonstrate closed-loop tactile behaviors for real-time manipulation control.
  • Co-supervise PhD and Master students and disseminate results through publications.
