The Swiss AI Lab (IDSIA) www.idsia.ch is opening a position for a postdoctoral researcher in the area of machine learning.

Job description:

The successful candidate will split their time evenly between two main activities:

1. Basic research aimed at publishing in high-impact journals and international conferences.
2. Applied research involving responsibility for cutting-edge projects in collaboration with companies in the financial services sector.

Additionally, the role involves seeking funding opportunities for both basic and applied research. The researcher will work on probabilistic methods in machine learning for inference and decision-making in complex environments, with significant freedom to explore and develop new methods. Collaboration with the IDSIA research team and financial sector partners will be essential for implementing these methods.
