goNEON in Zürich is seeking a platform lead to own and scale the AI-driven infrastructure engineering platform. You will shape the product, guide a team of engineers and contractors, and build a developer community around the platform.

This role blends hands-on coding with architecture, developer relations, and strategic decision-making, requiring comfort with ambiguity and a founder’s mindset. Based in Zürich, this is a full-time, on-site position joining a growing team.

Aufgaben

• Own the platform: Build and scale the environment where infrastructure engineers discover, build, run, and share AI-powered engineering workflows. Own the technical development and user experience across the platform, website, and eventually desktop applications.
• Become the technical face of goNEON: Build a community of developers around the platform. Speak at conferences, organize hackathons, contribute to open source, publish technical content, and build relationships across the AI, developer, and geospatial communities.
• Lead execution: Build and lead a team of engineers and contractors that ships the platform. Set technical direction, raise the engineering bar, and ensure the platform is delivered with exceptional quality and speed.
• Turn technology into product: Work closely with the founders to transform breakthrough technology into a platform users love. Decide what belongs in the core computational backend, remove complexity, and create an exceptional experience for our users and workflow developers.
• Operate like a founder: Translate vision into execution. Prioritize relentlessly, make decisions quickly, and take ownership without waiting for permission.

goNEON is building the operating system for infrastructure engineering.

Our AI executes engineering workflows across spatial data, regulations, and legacy software, enabling engineers to complete analyses that once took weeks in minutes. We believe infrastructure engineering should move at the speed of AI—while keeping engineers in control of every decision.

We’re transitioning from building workflows ourselves to building the platform where engineers build, share, and deploy their own. We’re looking for someone to own that platform. Our ambition is simple: make goNEON the place where infrastructure engineers build, share, and deploy AI workflows.

What you’ll do

• Own the platform: Build and scale the environment where infrastructure engineers discover, build, run, and share AI-powered engineering workflows. Own the technical development and user experience across the platform, website, and eventually desktop applications.

What success looks like

Users and outside developers build real workflows on goNEON without us in the loop, with a community forming around doing it. The team you lead ships fast, and the platform gets stronger with every release. What once required our direct involvement becomes something users build themselves.

What we’re looking for

• Strong software engineering fundamentals with experience building production systems (especially in Python, Next.js, and Postgres)
• Strong end-to-end ownership: you naturally take responsibility from idea through delivery and adoption
• Entrepreneurial mindset—you naturally identify what should exist next, not just what has been asked for
• Practical experience with geospatial software, GIS, or spatial computing
• Experience leading engineers, contractors, or technical teams
• Outstanding technical judgment and decision-making
• Genuinely excited by AI and AI-native in how you work
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity and moving fast
• Based in Zürich (full-time, on-site)

Especially valuable

• A dual profile: equally comfortable discussing platform architecture with engineers and representing goNEON in the user and developer community
• Experience building developer platforms, SDKs, APIs, or self-serve products
• DevRel, open-source, hackathon, or technical community experience
• Experience building products users and workflow developers genuinely love using
• Background in GIS, geospatial software, or developer tools
