Job summary

Try&Hire in Ecublens, Switzerland, is seeking a proactive photonics layout engineer with strong automation scripting. You will execute layouts for passive/active photonic components, design test structures, and maintain an automation library using GDSfactory/IPKISS and Python.

Qualifications

MSc or PhD in photonics or a related field.
Minimum 3+ years hands-on experience in integrated optics layout and/or automation programming.
Expert competence with layout tools such as GDSfactory or IPKISS.
Expert proficiency in Python programming for automation and scripting.
Familiarity with code versioning such as Git.
Familiarity with dataset analysis linking experimental data to physical layout features.
Working proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

Execute layout of passive and active photonic components and full circuits.
Contribute to component design and perform DRC and LVS checks.
Develop and maintain internal layout component library and automation scripts.
Interface with process and yield engineering teams on manufacturing requirements.
Design test structures to monitor fabrication capabilities.
Support characterization team with data extraction and test planning.
Document scripts, layout methodologies and library components.
