Zusammenfassung

ETH Zurich invites applications for a Doctoral Student position focusing on sparse reconstruction of virtual histology images. You will develop ML-based sparse 3D reconstruction methods for fast histopathology using X-ray phase-contrast radiography and tomography, collaborating with clinicians and researchers.

You will design data pipelines, implement reconstruction algorithms, compare to standard histology, and contribute to conferences and publications while engaging in teaching activities

Qualifikationen

  • Master's degree in physics, engineering or computer science.
  • Proficiency in computer vision and machine learning with Python.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken).

Aufgaben

  • Contribute to design and implementation of machine-learning-based sparse 3D image reconstruction modalities for fast histopathological assessment of tumor biopsies.
  • Set up data pipelines for synchrotron and laboratory microCT scans of soft tissue.
  • Develop algorithms to reconstruct virtual histopathology images from sparse phase-contrast CT data.
  • Compare with standard histology and assess algorithm performance.
  • Present results at international conferences and in publications.
  • Support the professorship in teaching activities.
