Zusammenfassung

ETH Zürich's Macromolecular Engineering Laboratory seeks a full‑time doctoral candidate to advance ex situ organ perfusion platforms and real‑time sensor integration. The role focuses on hardware design, control software, and collaboration with clinicians.

You will contribute to the Lab's Liver4Life project, work with engineers, biologists and clinicians, and may supervise students while teaching. Start date on/after 01 September 2026.

Qualifikationen

  • MSc degree in mechanical, electrical, biomedical, process engineering, robotics or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of electromechanical systems including sensors, actuators, pumps and control systems.
  • Experience with embedded systems programming and real-time control is advantageous.

Aufgaben

  • Learn and operate the lab's machine perfusion platforms for human and rat liver.
  • Develop improved control software and sensor integration for real-time monitoring.
  • Support perfusion experiments with clinical and biological partners.
  • Conceive, design and prototype next-generation perfusion platforms for new biological applications.
  • Contribute to lab duties and teaching, including supervision and practical courses.
